Share

25th December 2011 will be remembered as the day Imran Khan swept Pakistans politics by staging a massive rally in the industrial hub of Pakistan in support of his policies and bringing down the government with his slogan of destroying the status quo. Khan had promised that an estimated 200,000 people will attend the jalsa but that number exceeded with the unofficial attendance of 500,000.

Khan had announced about the next venue of his Tsunami liked revolution on 30th October. Since the Minar e Pakistan rally, many of bigwigs have joined the raging Tsunami. Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Javed Hashmi are the two main heavy weight players that have joined the party and given it a new life.

Javed Hashmi announced his inclusion in the party in a very filmy way on the night of 23rd and 24th December.

Since then, many of the politicians belonging from ruling Pakistan Muslim League are said to have been negotiating with Imran Khan to accept their inclusion into the party. But Khan, as he always his, has said everyone is welcomed but the appointments will only be made on merit.

The preparations for Karachi jalsa had already begun two months back. With thousands of volunteers being divided into teams and assigned specific tasks, PTI jalsa arrangements were really well planned and superbly executed.

There was a special container to provide ample space to the media persons.

Also, there was a social media container that was continuously live streaming the jalsa on web. Latest figures show an approximate 30, 000 people had switched to live streaming across the globe. This has never happened in the history of Pakistan’s politics.

Some people were heard referring to their grandparents who narrated last time they saw such an enthusiasm was at the time of creation of Pakistan.

No doubt Imran Khan has mobilized the youth of Pakistan like no one. He has urged to make Pakistan one of the greatest nations of the world. The jalsa started and ended with singing of Pakistan’s National Anthem, a common national practice, not so active now a days.

People are really hopeful from the promises Imran Khan has made. Everyone in Pakistan, even his opponents are praying for his health and safety. May Allah give him health, happiness and long life to fight against the odds.

Wishing him best of luck.
